Justin Roberson – Combo Guard – Burevestnik (Russia)

Name: Justin Roberson
Born: July 8, 1993
Passport: American
Position: Combo Guard
Height: 185 cm / 6’1″
Team: Burevestnik (Russia)

Justin Roberson is a skilled, physical, and athletic combo guard. He has the ability to create on his own, pass, and score, which helps him in pick and roll and one-on-one plays. Justin can score off the dribble or coming off screens. He is an exceptional defender (Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Year), and is capable of pressuring guards full court, denying the ball, taking charges, getting steals, and fighting through screens. Because of his low stance, balance, toughness, anticipation, and discipline he is extremely hard to play against. In addition to being a great defender, he is a tremendous rebounder for a guard. He uses his body incredibly well to avoid getting screened by bigger players. At Fribourg Olympic and The University of Louisiana at Monroe, Justin played both guard positions. Offensively, he keeps it simple using single moves, physicality, and athleticism to get by defenders. His mid-range pull up shots, transition plays, and finishes around the basket with authority are his go-to offensive moves.

Currently, Justin is averaging 20 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals per game for 3rd ranked Burevestnik in Russian Superleague.

During 2018/2019 season, Justin played for Swiss champs, Fribourg Olympic. They competed in Basketball Champions League qualifications and advanced into a group play. Fribourg beat Russian team Avtodor and Holland’s champs, Groningen to qualify into the third round. In the last round of qualifications, they beat Turkish team Sakarya. In first game, Justin had 29 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals. In the second game, he had 15 points, 3 rebounds, and 4 steals. In 20 Basketball Champions League games, Justin averaged 10.3 points, 2.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.5 steals per game and shot 49% from the field and 94% from the free throw line (33/35).  In Swiss league, Justin averaged 11 points, 3.5 rebounds, 4 assists, and 1.5 steals per game and shot 51% from the field, 36% from behind the 3-point line, and 78% from the charity line.
